Why do I need to know the fundamentals repeatedly?

As others say, fundamentals is fun, the word “fundamentals “ means forming a necessary base or core; of central importance in short “Basic” or “Essential” but why do they hate fundamentals?

Someone from a Facebook page that I am following commented from one of the posts there stating that he hates here in the Philippines because every university and colleges teach only fundamentals or the basics of the programming language then after the student graduates they only things they know are the fundamentals. This is the reason why others get the job that they don’t want. Because their knowledge is not qualified for the position.

That is not wrong and that’s also my mindset before when I was a student but along the way I also began understanding the school and why they are only teaching fundamentals. Giving the reason that we pay for our tuition to learn for our future but also we’re also responsible for our learning. The knowledge we need is not only to get in school or to your instructor. It means you are responsible to study on your own, if you want to learn in advance, no one will prevent you from doing that. Learning is around us, you can surf on Google or find tutorials on YouTube.

Another reason, if your professor will give you an advanced lesson do you think you will catch up? Some of your classmates might, but as a whole?? Nah. Maybe the school thinks it is necessary.

To conclude, I think you (students) need to do it on your own if you want to be great. Remember there is no instructor or professor at work, you only work with your co-workers or worst, on your own. So instead of hate, just study and keep coding ….
